We believe everybody has a passion for something; everybody was born with a gift and a purpose. We want to help our children ignite their passion and do what they love! The hotter our passion... the less the noise of the world matters!
WHAT?
Once a child is accepted into our Passion Finders program, they become a "Passionite." Our Passionites have a burning passion to do something wheter it's educational, recreational, arts, technical, or a career skill. We are dedicated to support that passion!
HOW?
We will seek local businesses, teachers and mentors within the Passionites community to partner with us by donating their services, their time and expertise to assist the child master their passion. These services will not always be donated; therefore, we will pay for these services for the child.
SUPPORT?
Prior to the child's first day of attendance, a representative from Different Is Beautiful, Inc (DIB) will meet with the class, mentor, or instructor to educate them about the Passionite who will be joining them providing them with resources and information on any issue or circumstance relating to the child's anomaly that might impact the child's ability to achieve physically, academically or socially in their environment. We will also go over our expectations as we will expect them to encourage acceptance, inclusion and friendships. We will create an environment where the child is accepted, treated and recognized for who they are and not how they are different. This will take place at an approved location agreed upon with the business or person who is offering their services/ classes, Different Is Beautiful, Inc and the family receiving services. We are excited to support and fund activities that assist a "Passionite" gain expertise in their chosen passion! We are excited to see purpose and destiny flourish!
We can't do this alone! Click on the link below and make a tax-deductible donation today! You chose your donation amount. Nothing is too small or too big!
We've been able to sponsor Natalia's passion to swim and have kept her in the water for a year as of June 2022.
Natalia has cerebral palsy. Her motor skills are compromised and she has low muscle tone.
Since Natalia began swimming lessons her therapist says she's above her expected level as she has gained muscle strength.
Natalia can now do the superman and hold the position for 40 seconds!
Natalia can now lean against the wall and do wall sits and hold the position for 30 seconds!
Don't you just love this smile!!
Tyler was our first Passionite. He is very passionate about animals.
Tyler has Autism, speech apraxia, and hypotonicity which causes social issues.
Since Tyler's happy place is with animals we were super excited to send him to Llama Camp in the North Carolina Mountains for a week with Aerie Experiences who are experts with Autism.
Of course Tyler's favorite part was having his own Llama to care for and in return CoCo took care of Tyler. Did you know that Llamas are herding animals and they took Tyler into their herd and protected him. They stood on the mountain hill where the kids slept in their tents and stood guard the whole night until the kids woke up. Who knew???
CoCo was in a beauty contest and Tyler wanted to make sure she had a certificate too.
Tyler needed this camp for many reasons. Every activity was not only fun but intentionally taught him life skills, coping skills, and behavioral control. The best thing is that he was surrounded with professionals who understood him and friends who were like him. He was in a no judgement zone away from the day-to-day responses of society. We love you Tyler!
The child was born "different" with an anomaly, birth defect, or special need that is physically noticeable.
Without the help of Different Is Beautiful, Inc the family does not have the financial means available to afford the desired program.
The child has the necessary support and transportation to maintain consistent attendance to their program without any interference.
An interview will be conducted to get to know your child so we can find the best possible fit in your community. We want to ensure that your child is set up for success!
Must have fun and enjoy your passion!!
